Meet Buck - Team Cerf
The style of Meet Buck is absolutely flawless. Everything is so much fun to look at, not to mention the quality of the animation, which is fantastic, too. There are some very cool process videos at their vimeo. If you read the comments and their responses you can get a little insight into how they managed to pull off this style!

Poor thing must have been so revealed to be free
A compilation of video clips collected in deepwater by the Little Hercules Remotely Operated Vehicle and camera platform during an ROV shakedown cruise aboard NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer offshore Kona, Hawaii (March 2010). The video footage shows a pelagic sea cucumber (apodid holothurian), Venus flytrap sea anemone (actinoscyphiid sea anemone), tipod fish (chlorophthalmid tipod fish), flatfish (pleuronectiform flatfish), eel (bongrid conger eel), shrimp (benthic caridean likely nematocarcinid shrimp), actiniid Bolocera-like sea anemone with a galatheid crab, Glass sponge and demospongid with hermit crab, and hexactinellid (glass) sponge next to a primnoid coral. Warning: This video contains scenes of a deer being shot which some may find disturbing.
A Michigan State Police trooper shot an INJURED deer at point blank range after several attempts to get the deer to move. MSP spokesperson Lt. Mike Shaw says there in an investigation under way and that it does not appear the trooper has committed a crime.
This is complete bullshit.
I don’t see the logic in this person’s train of thought. “Well if the INJURED deer doesn’t move when I beep at it, let me shoot it.” This officer didn’t think of calling animal control or a humane society…no. He decided to shoot the animal.
Sure, the investigation the MSP conducts may conclude his actions do not appear unlawful but his actions are most definitely inhumane.
Actually he did the right thing.
It’s almost impossible to treat injured deer because they are so sensitive they simply die of shock. The humanest thing to do for injured deer is to euthanize as quickly as possible. Waiting around for animal control would simply prolong the animal’s suffering, so shooting the deer ensured it’s pain was ended immediately.
A bullet is also considered the best way to euthanize injured deer. Even animal control and wildlife rescue organizations shoot deer on the spot in these situations rather then put them through the stress of moving and injecting them (which is nowhere near as quick or effective.)
I live in Michigan so I saw it on the news… and yeah. That deer would have most likely died anyway from stress or veering back into the road, or someone else shootin’ it (I mean, it was really fucking unresponsive- it’s end was near no matter what). “Oh boohoo, they saved the deer from suffering and shot it!” You fuckin’ kidding me? There’s a lot of deer in the world, and it’s sad to say, but that one was better of dead in that situation, and quite frankly, everyone will forget about this in a week and no one will even remember the poor thing.
